What is an Android Mipmap?
In Android development, `mipmap` folders inside your `res` directory are specifically used for app launcher icons. Android uses these different folders to serve the crispest icon possible based on the user's specific device screen density.
Densities Supported
- mdpi (Medium): Base density (1x), output is 48x48.
- hdpi (High): 1.5x density, output is 72x72.
- xhdpi (Extra High): 2x density, output is 96x96.
- xxhdpi (Extra Extra High): 3x density, output is 144x144.
- xxxhdpi (Extra Extra Extra High): 4x density, output is 192x192.
Why use this Mipmap Generator?
Scaling images manually in Photoshop or Figma takes time and is prone to error. Our tool automatically scales your master image using high-quality anti-aliasing directly in your browser, generating the exact folder structure Android Studio expects.
